Lori Anderson Art
Painting teaches me to go beyond merely looking at something to really seeing it. It gives the most simple object new life. Being able to capture what I see and feel is magical.
After retiring in 2002, it was a trip to Italy which inspired me to paint. I wanted to capture the architecture of Venice, the rolling hill and picturesque towns of Tuscany. It was at this point that I began taking art classes in Folsom.
Some of the artists I have studied with are Anita Wolff, Greg Kondos, Mike Bagdonis, and Ned Mueller. I work in oil and acrylic and like to try different styles and subject matter. I love to paint landscapes, large florals, still life, animals, and chickens.
I am one of the artists who participated in the 50-50 Show, 20-20 Show and Story Book Show at the 20th Street Gallery in Sacramento. My art has been shown in a number of places around town – Folsom City Hall, Willow Cafe, Intel Corporation, Z Gallery in Folsom and 404 Gallery in Roseville.
